The Asking Andover Project Space is a different kind of exhibition. It is set up in the Andover Museum Gallery, and is an invitation to add your memories, photos, objects, press cuttings, artwork and more.

As more people visit, and add a memory to our timeline, or share a poem, piece of artwork or photograph, the Project Space fills with memories and stories of times spent in Andover.

There isn’t any set theme to the memories, different people have been sharing memories about the railway, the Brownies, the olympic torch, weddings, old shops, buildings that have been demolished. Anything that is important to you is important to us.

We understand that sometimes it feels easier if someone gives you a subject to respond to, but we want to find out what subjects are important to you, and to reflect the range of activities, communities, places and people that make up Andover.

If you live, work or study in Andover then we’d like to hear from you. If you used to live, work or study in Andover but have moved away then we would still like to hear from you. Whether your memory is from a week ago or 50 years, as long as it is your memory, we want to hear about it.

If you have an object that links you to an Andover based memory or event, we can show it in one of our display cases – just pop into the Museum and ask to complete an object loan form. Similarly if you have a photograph that links with your memory, you can drop it int the Museum, and we can scan and print it for you (or email to to us at askingandover@gmail.com if it’s a digital image).

If you can’t make it along to the Project Space yourself, then you can email us, Tweet us at @AskingAndover, comment on the Museum Facebook page, or comment here below, telling us what happened, when, where, and whether you’d like your name included alongside your memory or not, and we will add your memory to the Project Space for you.

If you still have any questions, please do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
